Rest here, the environment screams. It contains delicious delights and piping hot drinks that warm even the coldest souls. The chocolate and maple tones embedding the walls and furniture invite everyone from the outcast to the elite to come and abide within these four walls. Electric guitars and soulful voices typify the background blues that fills the room, producing an underlying passion for life. Teeming with the aroma of coffee and sandwiches awaiting consumption, the air awakens the senses. A new reality enfolds here. All who wander in find peace and acceptance. But outside lies anonymity. People in motorized boxes rumble by in an automatic system: green, yellow, red. Unaware, these people pass by this awaiting bliss on a daily basis, too busy to trifle with oddities like a corner coffee shop Seated firmly within my new reality, I now ponder if this little coffee shop displays the truth of heaven. Open to all, yet the world simply passes by.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” – Matthew 7:13-14
